About Kokomo Residents Directory

Kokomo has no single, complete book of current residents. Useful evidence is divided among Howard County parcel records, election services, recorded deeds, court indexes, and more than a century of local directory collections. This private reference brings those official routes and historical shelves into one clear starting point.

Why This Reference Exists

As printed Kokomo city directories became less regular, the records that support resident research remained divided among separate custodians. The Howard County Assessor connects parcels to assessment records, and the Recorder keeps recorded instruments. Indiana law controls access to voter data. KHCPL and the Indiana State Library preserve older directory runs. Office contacts, search methods, coverage dates, and access limits are organized here so readers can reach the proper custodian without mistaking one public roll for a complete list of everyone in a household.

What You Can Research

  • Pages by angle: the street directory (address-keyed records), the city directory (the historical shelf), and the resident lookup (one-person searches)
  • Local rolls and custodians: Howard County assessor, recorder, elections, Clerk, vital records, and KHCPL local history sources
  • Research methods: tracing an address, reading a printed directory entry, and following one household through multiple years
  • Access boundaries: records Indiana law opens, information that remains confidential, and ways to request material that is not online

What We Cannot Do

Kokomo Residents Directory is a privately operated reference. It is not part of the City of Kokomo, Howard County, the State of Indiana, any court, or any library. As a result:

  • We do not confirm whether a named person now lives in Kokomo
  • We cannot obtain, certify, amend, or correct a public record for you
  • We cannot place a person on, or remove a person from, an official roll or database
  • We do not provide legal advice about records or disputes
  • We cannot guarantee that each link, coverage date, or Howard County office detail is current

The responsible custodian alone can confirm, certify, or correct its record. Information reached here cannot be used for credit, employment, tenant, or insurance decisions.
